On Saturday, August 24th, 2024, Perpignan will host the first edition of the "Défilé Surréaliste," a cultural and recreational event that stands out as one of the most exciting new attractions of the summer. This parade is a tribute to Salvador Dalí, commemorating his famous visit to Perpignan in 1965 with his wife Gala.
The parade will have two showings: the first at 6:00 PM and the second at 9:30 PM, the latter being an illuminated nighttime version. More than 30 artists will participate in the event, parading on themed floats that will travel through various streets of the city, offering a spectacle full of color and surprises, with elements inspired by Dalí's surrealist work.
The parade's route will begin at the Place de Catalogne, passing by iconic locations such as the Castillet and Boulevard Clemenceau, among others.
This event is free and organized by the Perpignan City Council, which invites all citizens and visitors to immerse themselves in the surrealist universe and enjoy a unique spectacle.
